What happens on rainy or stormy days?
We hold class rain or shine. If the weather is unsuitable to go out, we will gather at the site and move to the picnic shelter.
Can I stay and watch my child?
You are more than welcome to stay and watch class. There is excellent viewing from the beach and public dock - just make sure to check in with the instructors first!
DO i HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SAIL TO BECOME A MEMBER?
You don't need to know anything.
I can't make it to w
can i reserve a boat?
do you ever cancel open sailing for weather?
Yes. North Coast is always closed for thunderstorms and small craft advisories. For other high wind or weather events, judgement is left to the manager on-site.
You will need a High Wind certification to sail in winds above 15 knots, and even then it's up to the manager to decide what is safe to go out in and what isn't. They may request that you use reefed sails, be restricted to certain boats, or stay closer to shore.
What does bringing a guest look like?
After you get your Bring A Guest Endorsement, you can bring a guest - free of charge! We love it when members introduce their friends to sailing. However, for any guest that comes more than three times we ask them to purchase a membership as well.
